Communication Strategy

Strategy is about understanding the objective or business challenge and then developing an approach and tactical plans that will bring measurable results addressing the issue. Sounds simple. Makes sense. Can be really hard to achieve.

I enjoy the complexities of communication strategy development, and my years of experience in numerous resource industries in Alberta and BC allows me to provide clients with experience in both understanding the challenge, and developing a strategy to effectively address it.

My experience with many of Canada’s largest energy industry players, pipeline and mining companies as well as municipal governments and not for profits includes:

  • Strategy and External Communication Plans for industry associations, joint ventures and individual issues
  • Strategy and Internal Communications Plans to enhance employee engagement and change behaviours to be compliant with policy changes
  • Corporate Social Responsibility planning, reputation alignment and process development
  • Stakeholder Engagement Plans to align public participation plans with regulatory requirements of the Alberta Energy Regulator, BC Environmental Assessment Office and National Energy Board
